OMER COUNT DAY 40
Jeremiah 42 | Seeking the Voice of Yahuah While Desiring Our Own Way
Day 40 carries a deep prophetic weight. This is the day we remember the ascension of Yahushua, the moment where He ascended and was lifted up before the eyes of the disciples (Acts 1:9-11). It was not an ending but a transition into preparation, alignment and waiting for the outpouring that would come and this aligns powerfully with the restored remnant season we are walking in because ascension always calls for elevation in perspective. It calls us higher. Higher than fear. Higher than emotional decisions. Higher than our own understanding.
Yet, in this chapter, we see the struggle of the human heart very clearly. The people come to Jeremiah asking for the word of Yahuah. They sound humble and they ask sincerely for direction, promising they will obey whatever Father says but beneath their request, their hearts were already leaning toward their own plan and this is the tension many believers are facing in this hour.
Do we truly want Father’s will… or do we only want His agreement with what we have already decided?
As the restored remnant, Father is bringing us into deeper alignment, not selective obedience, but surrendered obedience. A people who do not only ask for His voice, but who are willing to follow it even when it goes against personal preference.
As it is written:
“Trust in Yahuah with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5
And again:
“My sheep hear My voice… and they follow Me.”
— John 10:27
The Chapter Unfolded
In Jeremiah 42, the remaining people come to Jeremiah after the chaos and destruction that has unfolded around them. Fear has gripped their hearts, especially concerning Egypt and what may happen next. They ask Jeremiah to seek Yahuah for them and promise that they will obey whatever He says.
Jeremiah does exactly that and after waiting before Father, the answer comes clearly: remain in the land, do not fear, and do not go down to Egypt.
Egypt represented more than a location, it represented human security, worldly dependence, and returning to familiar systems instead of trusting Yahuah but even before the answer came, the people had already set their hearts toward Egypt.
They wanted direction, but not surrender and this chapter becomes a warning for all of us: it is possible to seek Father outwardly while inwardly resisting what He is saying.
Diving Deeper Within
When I pray and seek Father, am I truly open to His answer or do I secretly hope He will confirm what I already want?
Are there areas where fear is influencing my decisions more than faith and am I willing to trust His leading, even when it feels uncertain or uncomfortable?
This chapter reminds us that obedience is proven after the answer comes.
Abba Yahuah,
Thank You that You still speak to Your people. Search my heart and remove every area where I seek my own will above Yours. Teach me to come before You with true surrender, not just outward words.
Help me not to be led by fear, emotions, or human understanding, but by Your Spirit and Your truth.
As we remember the ascension of Yahushua today, lift my perspective higher. Draw me into deeper trust, deeper obedience, and deeper alignment with Your heart.
Teach me to follow Your voice fully, even when the path feels unfamiliar.
In the Name of Yahushua. HalleluYAH!
Beloved, Father is leading His remnant carefully in this hour.
You do not need to run toward Egypt. You do not need to depend on worldly systems, fear-driven decisions, or familiar patterns from the past.
His voice is enough to guide you and just as Yahushua ascended in glory, He is also drawing His people upward….into maturity, discernment and deeper trust.
So stay close and stay listening and stay surrendered because those who truly follow His voice will not be lost in this hour.
Shalom beloved,
