DAY 3 – THE AMORITES

Overcoming the Stronghold of Pride

“When יהוה your Aluah brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you: the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites…” (Deuteronomy 7:1)

Understanding the Amorites

Today we continue our journey into the Promised Land by confronting the third nation mentioned in Deuteronomy 7:1—the Amorites.

The Hebrew word for Amorite is אֱמֹרִי (Emori), Strong’s H567. Many scholars connect the name to the Hebrew root אָמַר (amar), meaning “to speak,” “to say,” or “to utter.”

Historically, the Amorites were powerful mountain dwellers who occupied elevated regions throughout the land. They built strongholds in the high places and were known as a formidable people who resisted the advancement of YAHUAH’s covenant people.

Prophetically, the Amorites are often associated with pride, self-exaltation, self-reliance, and elevating our own voice above the voice of YAHUAH.

Just as they occupied the high places of the land, pride seeks to occupy the high places of the heart. Pride is often subtle and it does not always appear as arrogance.

Sometimes it appears as:

  • Self-sufficiency
  • Stubbornness
  • Independence
  • Defensiveness
  • Unteachability
  • Refusal to repent
  • Trusting our own understanding
  • Desire for recognition
  • Depending on our own strength

Fear says: “I can’t.” Pride says: “I can do it without YAHUAH.” The Kingdom of YAHUAH advances through humility. Before we can fully possess our inheritance, the Amorite stronghold must be brought low.

Today we invite the Ruach HaQodesh to reveal every area where pride may still be occupying territory within our lives.

How The Amorite Stronghold Operates

1. Self-Reliance

Instead of depending on YAHUAH, we trust our own abilities, experience, and understanding.

2. Resistance To Correction

Pride resists instruction because it believes it already knows.

3. Desire For Recognition

The flesh seeks honor from men rather than glory for YAHUAH.

4. Control

Pride struggles to surrender outcomes to YAHUAH.

5. Independence

The Amorite spirit promotes self-reliance and self-rule rather than humble dependence upon Yahuah through covenant.

Take A Look Inside

Prayerfully ask yourself:

Self-Reliance

  • Am I depending on my own strength more than on YAHUAH?
  • Have I stopped seeking His counsel in certain areas of my life?

Teachable Spirit

  • Am I willing to receive correction?
  • Do I become defensive when challenged?

Recognition

  • Do I seek approval and recognition from others?
  • Do I become discouraged when my efforts go unnoticed?

Control

  • Am I trying to control situations that belong in YAHUAH’s hands?
  • Have I surrendered my plans to Him?

Humility

  • Is there any area where I have exalted my opinion above the Word of YAHUAH?
  • Have I been quick to repent when convicted?

Pause and allow the Ruach HaQodesh to search your heart. Repent for every area where pride has taken root. Ask YAHUAH to cultivate humility within you.

Declaration

Speak aloud:

Today I renounce every form of pride operating within my life.

I reject arrogance, self-sufficiency, stubbornness, self-exaltation, and every attitude that lifts itself above the authority of YAHUAH.

I humble myself before the Almighty Hand of YAHUAH.

I acknowledge that every good thing comes from Him.

I choose dependence over independence.

I choose humility over pride.

I choose obedience over self-will.

I choose surrender over control.

My strength comes from YAHUAH.

My wisdom comes from YAHUAH.

My provision comes from YAHUAH.

My inheritance comes from YAHUAH.

By the blood of Yahushua HaMashiach, every agreement with pride is broken.

YAHUAH alone is exalted in my life.

War Cry

Lift your voice boldly:

YAHUAH ALONE IS EXALTED!

PRIDE SHALL FALL!

SELF-WILL SHALL BOW!

NOT MY WILL BUT YOUR WILL!

I HUMBLE MYSELF BEFORE THE KING!

I DEPEND ON YAHUAH!

THE AMORITE STRONGHOLD IS FALLING!

YAHUAH REIGNS OVER MY LIFE!

THE HIGH PLACES ARE COMING DOWN!

YAHUAH ALONE SHALL BE GLORIFIED!

Prophetic Action

Today, as you walk around your home, property, block, or wherever YAHUAH leads you:

  • Thank Him for every blessing He has given you.
  • Acknowledge that every victory comes from Him.
  • Repent for every area of self-reliance.
  • Surrender your plans, goals, dreams, and ambitions back to YAHUAH.
  • Declare His Lordship over your life and household.

As you walk, repeatedly proclaim:

“YAHUAH ALONE IS EXALTED!”

and

“THE HIGH PLACES ARE COMING DOWN!”

Ask the Ruach HaQodesh to reveal hidden areas where pride may still be operating.

Blow The Shofar

When you have completed your walk, sound the shofar. As you blow, declare:

I announce the Kingship of YAHUAH over every area of my life.

Every Amorite stronghold of pride, self-reliance, and self-exaltation must fall.

The high places are coming down.

Every throne that has exalted itself against the knowledge of YAHUAH must bow.

I humble myself before the King of Glory.

YAHUAH alone is exalted.

YAHUAH alone is worthy.

YAHUAH alone shall reign!

Let humility arise and pride be scattered!

Communion

Take the bread and the cup. As you partake, remember:

  • Yahushua humbled Himself unto death.
  • He demonstrated perfect obedience to the Father.
  • Through His humility we have access to life.
  • Through His sacrifice we receive grace and mercy.
  • He showed us that true greatness is found in surrender.

Give thanks for the perfect example of YAHUSHUA HaMashiach and ask Him to form His character within you.

Closing Prayer

Abba YAHUAH,

Thank You for revealing every hidden area of pride within my life. Father, remove every trace of self-exaltation, self-reliance, and stubbornness and teach me to walk humbly before You.

May I become quick to repent, eager to learn, and willing to surrender. Please help me to trust You above my own understanding Father and may every high place within my heart be brought low. May You increase and may I decrease.

Drive out every Amorite stronghold little by little as I walk in obedience before You and establish humility, wisdom, and dependence upon You within me.

In the Name of Yahushua HaMashiach, HalleluYAH!

Day 3 Reminder

“Humble yourselves in the sight of יהוה, and He shall lift you up.” (James 4:10)

The Amorites occupied the high places of the land. Today YAHUAH is dealing with the high places of the heart. As we humble ourselves before Him, He promises to lift us up.

The high places are coming down, and YAHUAH alone will be exalted.

Shalom beloved,
