OMER COUNT DAY 38
Jeremiah 40 | Choosing Peace in the Middle of Ruins
There are seasons after great shaking where everything feels uncertain. The dust settles, the old structure is gone and suddenly you find yourself standing in a place you never expected to be and, in those moments, the heart naturally asks: What now?
This is where many people lose their peace. Not because Father has left them, but because the future no longer looks familiar. Yet Father often does some of His deepest work in the aftermath of breaking, when pride has fallen and dependence on Him becomes necessary again.
In this hour, many are standing in transition spaces. Old things are ending. Certain expectations are collapsing but Father is not only concerned with what has fallen, no, He is looking at how we move forward from here.
Will we walk in fear, suspicion, and instability or will we remain steady and trust Him, even in unfamiliar territory?
The Chapter Unfolded
In Jeremiah 40, Jerusalem has already fallen. The destruction Jeremiah warned about has happened and yet in the middle of all of it, something unexpected takes place. Jeremiah is released and shown kindness by the Babylonian commander.
The people who remain in the land begin gathering again under Gedaliah’s leadership. There is a small sense of rebuilding, a quiet opportunity for peace and stability after so much loss.
Gedaliah encourages the people not to fear and simply to remain in the land and serve peacefully. It is a moment where restoration could begin slowly and humbly and this chapter carries such an important reminder: even after judgment, Father still provides space for rebuilding.
His mercy continues speaking, even after hard seasons.
Diving Deeper Within
How do I respond after disappointment, correction, or loss?
Do I allow fear and uncertainty to control my decisions, or am I willing to trust Father in the rebuilding process?
Am I able to recognize His mercy, even after painful seasons and deeper still, have I allowed past shaking to make my heart fearful, guarded, or unstable? Because Father is not only restoring circumstances, He is restoring hearts.
Abba Yahuah,
Thank You that Your mercy remains, even after difficult seasons.
Where my heart has become fearful, unsettled, or weary through past experiences, bring healing and peace. Help me to trust You in seasons of rebuilding and transition.
Teach me not to live in fear of what has already passed, but to remain anchored in Your presence today.
Give me wisdom, steadiness, and discernment as I move forward. And let my heart remain soft and surrendered before You.
In the Name of Yahushua. HalleluYAH!
Beloved, Father is not absent in the rebuilding season. Even after loss, even after shaking, even after disappointment—His hand is still able to restore, guide, and establish you again.
Do not despise small beginnings. Do not lose heart in quiet seasons. Sometimes the deepest restoration begins in humble places, where hearts learn to trust Him again.
Shalom beloved,
