The Hebrew Meaning of the Name

Beloved, after standing (Nitzavim) and going (Vayelech), now comes a call that is deeper than movement…

Ha’azinu (הַאֲזִינוּ) means:
“Give ear” or “Listen attentively.”

This is not casual hearing.
This is intentional listening with the heart.

The Hebrew root אָזַן (azan) means to incline the ear, to pay close attention, to receive and respond.

Moses opens this portion with a song: “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak…” Creation itself is called as a witness. This is a moment where heaven and earth are listening.

What This Portion Is About

Ha’azinu is known as the Song of Moses — a prophetic song that carries both warning and promise.

It speaks of:

  • The faithfulness of Yahuah
  • The tendency of His people to drift
  • The consequences of turning away
  • The mercy and restoration of Yahuah
  • His justice and righteous judgment

This is not just history — it is a prophetic witness across generations. Moses is about to leave and instead of just giving instruction, he gives a song. Something that will be remembered, repeated and carried in the hearts of the people, because songs remain when words are forgotten.

Prophetic Alignment — Restored Remnant Rising, A New Song & A Hearing Ear

Beloved Remnant,

As we step into this new Biblical year, something very beautiful and very important is happening in the spirit. Father is not just speaking — He is releasing a sound.

The Scripture He gave us with the prophetic word He released for the Biblical New Year, from Psalm 96 says, “Sing to Yahuah a new song…” and then, as we come into this week’s Torah portion, Ha’azinu, Moses also begins with a song, saying, “Give ear… and I will speak.” Do you see how these two come together?

One is calling us to sing and the other is calling us to listen. This is not by accident. This is Father aligning something for this new season. Before we can release the right sound, we must first learn how to hear Him clearly.

During these 40 Days of Heart Purging toward Pesach, Father is not only cleaning our hearts — He is also clearing our ears. Many times, we think we are listening, but there are still other voices, other emotions, or even past wounds that make it difficult for us to hear Him correctly. And so, in this season, He is gently removing those things.

He is slowing us down.
He is asking us to come closer.
He is teaching us to listen again.

Because the truth is, Israel also heard the voice of Yahuah… but they did not always listen with obedience and that is why Ha’azinu carries both a warning and a promise. But this new year is different.

Father is calling a people who will not only hear — but who will respond.

A people who will not delay.
A people who will not argue.
A people who will not mix His voice with other voices.

Psalm 96 speaks about a new song going out into all the earth. It speaks about declaring His glory among the nations. But that song must come from a place of truth, purity, and obedience. The new song is not just music. It is a life that agrees with His voice.

So as we walk through this portion, Ha’azinu, we must ask ourselves:

Am I really listening?
Am I hearing Him clearly?
And when He speaks… do I obey?

Beloved, this is a very tender but powerful moment. Father is preparing the restored remnant to carry His voice into this new year. But before we can speak, we must be sure that we are hearing Him correctly. And as He cleans our hearts and as He clears our ears, something new will begin to rise from within us — a pure sound, a true response, a life that reflects Him.

Abba Yahuah,

Thank You for bringing us into this new Biblical year and for the word You have released over us. We come before You with open hearts. Teach us to listen to You clearly. Remove every distraction, every voice, and every emotion that makes it difficult for us to hear You.

During these days of heart purging toward Pesach, cleanse us deeply. Not only our actions, but our thoughts, our motives, and our inner responses.

Help us not to be a people who only hear, but a people who obey.

Place a new song within us — not just on our lips, but in the way we live. Let our lives reflect Your truth and Your ways.

Make us sensitive to Your voice.
Make us quick to respond.
Make us steady in obedience.

We choose to listen.
We choose to follow.
We choose You.

In the Name of Yahushua HaMashiach, HalleluYAH.

Beloved, be encouraged — you are not in this season by accident. Yahuah is drawing you closer, not to overwhelm you, but to prepare you. As you quiet your heart and incline your ear, you will begin to recognize His voice more clearly than before. Do not be afraid of the refining; it is making you ready. This new year will not be led by confusion, but by clarity for those who listen.

As you hear Him and walk in obedience, you will find yourself stepping into places you once only prayed about. The path will open, the direction will become sure, and the sound of your life will carry His glory. Stay close, stay soft before Him, and keep listening — He is leading you faithfully into what He has prepared. HalleluYAH. 🤍
