Biblical Month 1 & the Tribe of Yahudah

Biblical Month 1 – When Yahuah Says: “Begin Again”

There is something deeply sacred about the moment we are stepping into right now. Biblical Month 1 is not simply the turning of a page on a calendar, it is a moment where Yahuah Himself draws a line in time and says, “This is where we begin again.” In Exodus 12:2, He speaks to His people while they are still in Egypt, still surrounded by pressure, still not fully free, and yet He declares, “This month shall be unto you the beginning of months…” What makes this so powerful is that nothing around them had fully changed yet, which reveals that Yahuah does not wait for everything in your life to come into perfect order before He releases a new beginning, He speaks a new season while you are still walking out of the old one.

Perhaps that is where you find yourself right now, in a space where things feel in-between, where you are no longer where you used to be, yet you have not fully stepped into what lies ahead. This kind of place can feel uncertain, sometimes even uncomfortable, yet it is exactly here where Yahuah says, “This is the beginning.” His definition of a new season is not based on what is visible around you, it is rooted in what He has already spoken over you, and when He calls something the beginning, it carries the authority of Heaven regardless of what your circumstances may still look like.

This first month, known as Abib, carries such a gentle yet powerful picture of new life beginning to emerge. It speaks of green ears of grain, of the earliest signs that something planted in a previous season is now starting to push through the soil, and while it is not yet the full harvest, it is the undeniable evidence that the season has shifted. There are moments in this kind of season where you may find yourself looking closely, wondering if what you are seeing is real, questioning whether the small signs of change truly matter, yet this is often how Yahuah works, quietly and faithfully bringing to life what He has already established in the unseen.

There is also something deeply significant in how this month is connected to the tribe of Judah, Yahudah, whose name means praise. In Judges 1:2, Yahudah is chosen to go first, setting a pattern that speaks far beyond a single moment in history. This reveals that the way we step into a new season is not first through understanding everything, nor through having every plan in place, rather it is through positioning our hearts in praise, choosing to lift our voices in trust before we see the full picture. Praise becomes the doorway into what Yahuah is doing, not as a reaction to breakthrough, but as a declaration of faith in the One who leads us.

When we look again at the story in Exodus 12, we begin to see how this beginning unfolded in a very real and practical way. The people were given clear and specific instructions, a lamb had to be prepared, the blood had to be applied, and each step required obedience. That night, everything shifted, not because the people had the strength to free themselves, but because they responded to what Yahuah had said and positioned themselves under His covering. This carries such a strong message for us in this season, as it reminds us that there are moments where breakthrough is not found in striving, but in simple, surrendered obedience to His voice.

As the story continues, Numbers 33:3 tells us that they departed from Egypt in this very first month, which brings the reality of movement into the picture. Freedom was no longer just something spoken over them, it became something they had to walk out step by step, leaving behind what was familiar and moving into what was unknown. This kind of transition often does not feel dramatic in every moment, it can look like small, intentional steps, decisions made daily to turn away from old patterns and to embrace what Yahuah is leading you into, even when the full path is not yet clear.

Later, in Exodus 40:2, we see Yahuah instructing His people to set up the Tabernacle on the first day of the first month, which reveals something so close to His heart. After deliverance and after movement, the focus shifts to His presence, to creating a place where He can dwell among His people. This reminds us that the purpose of a new beginning is not only change or progress, it is intimacy with Him, learning to walk with an awareness of His presence in every part of our lives.

In 2 Chronicles 29, we also see King Hezekiah beginning the cleansing of the temple in the first month, opening the doors that had been shut and removing what had defiled the house. This shows that stepping into a new season often includes a gentle but necessary process of cleansing, where Yahuah highlights areas that cannot move forward with us, not to bring condemnation, but to prepare a space where His presence can rest freely. There is a restoration that comes through this process, a returning to purity and true worship.

The journey described in Ezra also begins in this first month, marking a return to Jerusalem and a rebuilding of what had been broken. This carries such a hopeful tone, as it reminds us that Yahuah is not only interested in bringing us out of places of bondage, He is also committed to restoring identity, rebuilding foundations, and bringing His people back to what is true and established in Him. There is a sense of coming home woven into this season, a quiet invitation to return to what matters most.

When all of these moments are seen together, a clear and beautiful pattern begins to emerge, showing that Yahuah starts with deliverance, leads into movement, brings alignment and cleansing, and then establishes His presence among His people. Nothing in this process is rushed, nothing is wasted, and every step carries intention. This first month becomes a doorway into a journey that is both personal and deeply spiritual, where each step is guided by His hand.

As you step into this Biblical Month 1, there is no need to feel pressure to have everything figured out, as this is not a season that demands perfection, it is a season that invites closeness. Staying near to Him, listening for His voice, and allowing praise to rise from your heart will position you more than any plan ever could. There is something powerful about choosing to trust Him in the early stages, where things may still feel small or unclear, because this is often where the deepest work begins.

It is important to hold onto this truth as you move forward, that when Yahuah calls something the beginning, it is fully established in His timing and His authority. Your past season does not have the final say, and what still feels incomplete does not disqualify what He is starting. His word defines your season, and His voice is the one that leads you into it.

Prayer

Abba Yahuah,
Thank You that You are the One who defines our beginnings, even when we are still in the middle of the process. Thank You for speaking new life over us and for leading us with such faithfulness and care. Teach us to walk in this month with hearts that are open, with ears that are listening, and with a spirit that chooses praise in every moment. Let Your presence be the center of this new beginning, and guide us step by step into all that You have prepared.

In the Name of Yahushua HaMashiach, HalleluYAH.
