OMER COUNT DAY 20

Jeremiah 22 | When Righteousness Is Tested in Plain Sight

In Jeremiah 22, the word of Yahuah comes directly to leadership, but it doesn’t stay there, it exposes a pattern that echoes into every generation, including ours. “Do what is just and right. Deliver the oppressed…”

The chapter confronts a dangerous illusion: that position, identity, or outward association with Yahuah can replace obedience.

The kings of Judah sat in places of authority, yet their actions told a different story. They built, expanded, and secured their own comfort, but neglected justice, ignored the vulnerable, and walked in self-interest and Yahuah’s response is clear: privilege without righteousness invites judgment.

This speaks directly into the world and the body of believers today because it is possible to carry the language of faith, to gather, to worship, to declare truth and yet live in ways that contradict it.

It is possible to build “houses” (ministries, platforms, influence), but not build according to righteousness. Jeremiah 22 calls this out boldly.

It reminds us that Father is not impressed by appearance, He examines alignment. Not what we say, but what we do and not what we claim, but how we live when it costs us something. This is a call back to authentic, lived-out righteousness.

Reflection

Day 20 invites us to look honestly at what our lives are producing. Where has Father given me influence, responsibility, or stewardship? In my home, my work, my relationships, my community…and am I walking in justice and integrity in those spaces?

Do I treat others, especially the overlooked, the vulnerable and the inconvenient with righteousness or have I become comfortable in knowing truth without consistently living it?

Am I building my life in alignment with Father’s ways, or am I quietly building for myself? This is not about perfection, but it is about willingness and to be corrected, to realign and to walk it out.

The weight of this chapter is real, but so is the invitation. Yahuah does not reveal these things to push us away, but to call us back. Righteousness is not out of reach, it is a path we can choose, step by step. Even small, consistent acts of obedience matter.

You don’t need a title or position to walk in righteousness — you need a willing heart and Father is faithful to meet you there, to guide you, and to establish your steps.

Prayer

Abba YAHUAH,

Today I come before You with an open heart. Search me and reveal where my life is not aligned with Your righteousness. Show me where I have become comfortable in knowing truth, but slow in living it.

Teach me to walk in justice, integrity, and humility and help me to steward what You have entrusted to me in a way that honors You. Where I have built for myself, lead me back to building according to Your ways.

Give me the courage to choose righteousness, even when it costs me. Refine my heart, align my steps, and establish me in Your truth and let my life not only declare Your name, but reflect Your character.

In the beautiful Name of Yahushua our Messiah. HalleluYAH!
