DAY 36: STRIPPING UNCLEAN MOTIVATIONS
40 Days of Purging the Heart to Pesach
⚓ ANCHOR VERSES
Psalm 139:23–24
“Search me, O Elohim, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Matthew 6:1
“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them…”
THE STRIPPING
There are moments in the walk with YAHUAH where the outward actions may look right, yet the inward motivation still needs cleansing. You may pray, serve, give, encourage others, or walk in obedience, and all of these things are good and necessary. Yet the heart can quietly hold motivations that are mixed — not completely wrong, but not completely pure either.
Sometimes the heart desires approval or sometimes it desires recognition or even sometimes it wants to feel useful, needed or valued. Other times it wants to feel secure or it wants to avoid disappointment or even avoid correction.
These motivations are not always obvious and they are not always intentional. Most of the time they grow slowly, shaped by experiences, wounds, disappointments, or even by the need to feel accepted, but in this deeper phase, YAHUAH begins to gently strip away everything that is not rooted in pure love for Him.
Not to shame you, and not to reject what you have done, but to purify what is within you so that your obedience flows from the right place, because when motivation is pure, obedience becomes lighter, deeper and more peaceful.
HEART EXPOSURE
Take a quiet moment and ask yourself honestly: Why do I do the things I do for YAHUAH? Is it always out of love for Him or are there moments where the heart also seeks affirmation, recognition or reassurance from people?
Do you ever feel discouraged when something you did was not noticed? Do you ever feel hurt when your effort was not appreciated? Do you sometimes feel pressure to prove something, even in spiritual things? These questions are not meant to accuse you. They are meant to reveal what still needs healing and purification within the heart.
YAHUAH does not only look at the action. He looks at the intention behind it, and because He loves you deeply, He does not want your walk with Him to be driven by pressure, fear or the need to prove something. He wants it to flow from love.
THE SURRENDER POINT
There comes a moment where the heart must become completely honest before YAHUAH. Not trying to appear pure, not trying to hide mixed motives and not trying to justify why something was done. Simply honest. Because purity does not begin with perfection, it begins with truth.
Today is the moment to allow YAHUAH to cleanse every hidden motivation within you — the desire to be seen, the need to be validated, the fear of being overlooked or the pressure to prove yourself. When these things are removed, obedience becomes peaceful again. Not forced, not heavy and not driven by pressure.
But free.
SPIRITUAL ACT (STRIPPING ACTION)
Take a few quiet moments and ask YAHUAH to reveal one motivation that still needs cleansing. Do not resist what comes up. Do not try to soften it or explain it. Simply acknowledge it. Then say softly: “Abba YAHUAH, purify my heart and cleanse my motives.”
Stay still for a moment and allow His peace to settle within you.
DECLARATION
My heart belongs to YAHUAH.
I release every mixed and unclean motivation, and I choose to walk in purity, humility, and love for Him alone.
My obedience flows from love, not from pressure.
PRAYER
Abba YAHUAH,
Search my heart and reveal every hidden motivation within me. You see what I cannot always see, and You know what still needs cleansing. Forgive me for the moments where my heart was not fully pure, where I desired approval, recognition, or validation instead of simply loving You.
Today I surrender every mixed motivation into Your hands. Purify my heart and teach me to walk in true love for You, not in pressure or fear.
Let my obedience flow from a place of purity and humility. Remove everything within me that is not aligned with Your heart.
Continue to strip away every layer that stands between me and full surrender to You.
In the Name of Yahushua HaMashiach
HalleluYAH.
🌿
As you come to the end of this day, do not allow your heart to become heavy or discouraged by what has been revealed. YAHUAH does not expose your heart to push you away, but to draw you closer into purity and freedom.
Every hidden motivation He uncovers is an invitation, not a rejection — an invitation to walk lighter, to love deeper and to serve Him without pressure or striving. You are not being disqualified; you are being refined.
Stay tender in His presence and let your heart rest in the knowing that He is gently shaping you into something sincere, whole and pleasing before Him.
