MANY ARE CALLED FEW ARE CHOSEN (Part 6)

Shabbat Shalom beloved

🌿 Shabbat Reflection — Parashat Bechukotai: “Pressed, Focused, and Faithful”

While I was praying earlier this week and asking Abba YAHUAH to press and crush me so that I may produce oil for Him, I accidentally said “honey” instead of “oil.” And in that moment, Abba reminded me how both oil and honey come from a process of transformation — one through pressing, one through gathering — yet both are produced when we surrender ourselves fully into His hands.

This flows beautifully into today’s Torah portion, Bechukotai, where YAHUAH begins with the words: “If you walk in My statutes and guard My commands, and do them…”(Leviticus 26:3) This is the call to focused obedience. Just as a falcon fixes its eyes on one target and refuses to be distracted, YAHUAH invites us to lock our hearts and our gaze on Him alone.

Bechukotai teaches us that blessing flows when our focus is steady, our steps are aligned, and our hearts are submitted. And just like an olive that must be pressed to release its oil, our lives often go through seasons of pressure. But Bechukotai reveals that pressure under obedience leads to fruitfulness, peace, provision, and even victory:

“I shall give you rain in its season…”

“The land shall yield its increase…”

“You shall chase your enemies…”

“I will set My dwelling place among you…”

These blessings are not random. They are the result of a life focused, surrendered, and faithful. So on this Shabbat, Abba calls us to return our eyes to Him —to be like the falcon, unwavering and fixed; to be like the olive, willing to be pressed; to be like the bee, gathering sweetness from every place where He leads.

Bechukotai reminds us that when our focus is on YAHUAH, our obedience becomes worship, our pressure becomes oil, and our lives become a dwelling place for His presence.

🌾 Many Are Called, but Few Are Chosen — The Path of the Set-Apart

As we continue with Part 6 of “Many Are Called but Few Are Chosen,” Bechukotai reminds us that being called is an invitation, but being chosen is a response.

The chosen are those who walk in His statutes, who keep their hearts focused like the falcon, and who allow Abba YAHUAH to press them until the oil of obedience flows.

The called may hear His voice, but the chosen respond with surrendered lives, steadfast devotion, and uncompromising obedience. They embrace the pressing, they guard their focus, and they walk the narrow path that Bechukotai lays before us. And in return, YAHUAH marks them with His presence, His protection, and His favor.

This is the journey from called to chosen — the path of those whose eyes, hearts, and lives are wholly His.

Sabbath Shalom, beloved of the King.

May His peace rest upon you, and may He make you fruitful in every good work.
