PURIFYING THROUGH PRESSING

PURIFYING THROUGH PRESSING

We are in a season of pressing — a Gethsemane moment — where Abba is allowing the crushing that produces the pure oil of His presence. The process is not to break us, but to bring forth what is most precious within us. Just as Yahushua was pressed in the garden before His greatest victory, so too we must walk through our own Gethsemane with focus and surrender.

In this sacred place, the shadows of our past must die, the chains of no change must fall, and our focus like a falcon must lock on the purpose beyond the pain. For it is in the pressing that purity is born, and the oil that fills the Bride’s lamp begins to flow — prepared and shining for the coming of the Bridegroom.

PROPHETIC DREAM

Two days ago, I had a dream about a place I needed to go. In the dream, I bought a one-way air ticket and set off on the journey. When I arrived, I saw a person from my past lying in a hospital bed, frail and dying of cancer. The doctors had done all they could, but there was nothing more they could offer. In his despair, he had tried to take his own life but failed, and then asked someone else to end his suffering — and they did.

As the dream unfolded, I clearly heard the name of the place — Gethsemane.

When I woke up, I felt the weight of that name resting on my spirit. Gethsemane means “the oil press.” It is the place where olives are crushed and pressed so that the pure oil can flow out — oil that later becomes fuel for light and anointing for holiness. In the same way, our lives go through seasons of pressing and crushing, where YAHUAH allows circumstances to purify what is within us, producing something far more valuable than before.

Gethsemane was also the place where Yahushua Himself was pressed. On the night before His capture, He went to that garden to pray. The weight of the world’s sin pressed so heavily upon Him that He sweat drops of blood (Luke 22:44). “And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly; and His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

🌿 💫 This is the heart of Gethsemane — the moment of ultimate pressing. The name ‘Gethsemane’ itself means ‘oil press,’ showing how Yahushua’s spiritual agony released the oil of salvation for all.

Even in the most intense moments of pressing and crushing, we are never alone. Just as Yahushua was in Gethsemane, feeling the weight of the world pressing upon Him, and yet — in that moment of deep agony — an angel came to strengthen Him (Luke 22:43). In the same way, Abba YAHUAH never leaves us to endure our crushing by ourselves. When the pressure feels unbearable, when we feel abandoned or misunderstood, His presence is closest.

The oil press may seem like a lonely place, but it is also the place of intimacy and revelation. It’s in the crushing that we experience His comfort, His nurturing hand, and His assurance that there is divine purpose in the pain.

The angels still come to minister to those who are being pressed for His glory. We are not forgotten — the Master of the Press watches carefully over every turn, knowing exactly how much pressure is needed to bring forth the purest oil.

He Atoned — The Beginning of the Crushing

The atonement of humanity began not on the torture stake, but first in a garden — the Garden of Gethsemane. Just as the fall of mankind began in a garden, where Adam chose his own will over the will of Elohim, so our redemption began in another garden, where Yahushua — the second Adam — chose to surrender completely to the Father’s will. In that moment He prayed, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42).

The very name Gethsemane means oil press, and it was there that Yahushua felt the full weight of humanity’s sin pressing upon Him — the crushing that would release the pure oil of salvation. Though His blood had not yet been shed on the stake, His surrender in the garden marked the true beginning of atonement. In agony so deep that His sweat became like drops of blood, He bore the pressure of mankind’s rebellion and reversed the curse that began in Eden through His obedience.

Like the olive that must be crushed before its oil can flow, Yahushua’s pressing in Gethsemane released the anointing that would redeem and empower all who believe. The atonement was not only fulfilled at Calvary — it began in the secret place of surrender, in the garden where the will of the Son aligned perfectly with the will of the Father.

THE MASTER OF THE PRESS

The Person who presses — our Abba Father — does not crush to destroy, but to purify. Just as the olive must be crushed to release its oil, we too must be refined so that what is pure and holy may flow out of us. The pressing reveals our surrender; it brings us to the place where our will is fully yielded to His.

“Not My will, but Yours be done.” — Luke 22:42

The pressing is the process of purification. The oil that flows is the evidence of transformation.

The Season of Crushing and Pressing

We are now in a season of crushing and pressing. The person I saw in the hospital bed in my dream was a reflection — a shadow of the past self that must die. The sickness represented the hidden wounds, regrets, and sins that slowly eat away at us when left unhealed. The only way forward is to face it, renounce it, reject it, and repent — to cut it loose before it destroys us.

Just like in the dream, the man’s desire to end his pain revealed the danger of hopelessness, and the one who helped him represented the wrong influences around us — people who feed our despair instead of lifting us toward life. We must surround ourselves with those who speak life, faith, and hope, who point us toward YAHUAH’s healing presence and not deeper into our pain.

THE PRESSING IS FOR THE PRESSOR

Each one of us must go through our own pressing and crushing. No one can do it for us — and we cannot take someone else’s place in theirs. But here is the mystery: the pressing is not even for us. The purpose of the crushing is for the Pressor — the One operating the olive press. His focus is not on the pain of the process, but on the pure golden oil that will flow from it.

Just as the olive yields its richest oil only under great pressure, we too must be pressed to release what is pure within us. The goal is not destruction but purification.

Yahushua taught this truth through the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1–13). The five wise virgins could not share their oil with the others because that oil came at a great price — the price of their own pressing and preparation. Their oil represented the fruit of their surrender, endurance, and obedience.

In Hebrew wedding custom, the bride would wait by the window with her lamp burning, its light signaling her readiness for the Bridegroom’s return. The oil in her lamp was not for herself — it was for the Bridegroom, a sign of her love, faithfulness, and anticipation.

Likewise, the oil produced from our crushing and pressing is not for our glory, but for the Master, the One who presses. He alone determines the process, the timing, and the intensity of the pressure. We cannot manipulate the Pressor — His purpose is to draw out the purest virgin oil from our lives.

So we must trust the process. Focus not on the pain of the pressing, but on the beauty of the oil that will flow from it — the oil of anointing, the oil of intimacy, the oil of preparation for the coming Bridegroom.

“And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, ‘Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.’ And there appeared an angel from heaven strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly; and His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”
— Luke 22:41–44

Before Yahushua gave the greatest sacrifice, He went to Gethsemane — the place of crushing and pressing. It was there that He was prepared, strengthened, and comforted. Though the weight of the world’s sin pressed upon Him, the oil that flowed from His obedience became the Ruach ha’Kodesh, the Holy Spirit poured out upon His people.

Gethsemane was not just a place of sorrow — it was a place of preparation and birth. And so it is with us today. Our pressing may feel unbearable, but it is producing something extraordinary.

The crushing precedes the outpouring. The pressing precedes the anointing.

Trust the process.
The oil that flows from this season will light the way for the Bridegroom’s return.

Reflection: Focus in the Pressing

In the midst of crushing and pressing, the enemy tries to distract us — to make us lose focus on what the Pressor is doing. Yet this is the time to focus like a falcon — to fix our gaze on the higher purpose beyond the pain.

The falcon doesn’t chase every movement on the ground; it locks its eyes on the target above the noise. So must we keep our eyes on Yahushua, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). In the pressing, our focus determines our freedom.

Many remain bound in the chains of no change, repeating cycles of pain because they resist the crushing that brings transformation. But when we surrender to the Pressor’s hands, the chains break, and the oil of new life begins to flow.

Do not fear the pressing. Embrace it. Let the process refine your focus, purify your heart, and release the fragrance of obedience. This is how the oil of the Bride is made — pure, fragrant, and ready for the Bridegroom.

🌿 Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

Abba YAHUAH,
We come before You in this season of pressing and crushing.
We lay down our fears, our pain, and our resistance at Your feet.

Crush every prideful thought, every shadow of the past, every unhealed wound still chained to who we used to be.

Press us, Abba — not to destroy us, but to purify us.
Let the oil that flows from our lives be pure and fragrant before You.
Give us the focus of the falcon — eyes fixed on Yahushua, unmoved by distractions, steadfast through the storm.

Break the chains of no change that keep us bound to old patterns.
Transform our crushing into consecration.

Let our pressing produce the oil that lights the lamp of the Bride,
so that when the Bridegroom comes, He will find us ready, burning bright, and filled with joy.

We trust You, O Pressor of our souls.
For in Your crushing, You are creating something eternal and beautiful.
Not our will, but Yours be done.
