Day 18 (Elul 18) MY ROCK
MODEH ANI – MORNING PRAYER
Abba YAHUAH, You chose to give me another day of life—another chance to learn more about You. Thank You for having faith in me and granting me this opportunity to make today better than yesterday. Thank You for awakening me with the whispers of Your love, blowing over me in the fresh, new day, filled with the gift of grace. For You have restored my soul within me, awakening me once again to be loved by You.
I acknowledge before You that You are my Rock, my Fortress—my Hiding Place. Father, thank You for providing shelter for me under Your wings, where I am protected and find my refuge. You are my Rock, where my feet stand secure, knowing that You will never change and that I can always rely on Your faithful foundation.Great is Your faithfulness, in the beautiful Name of Yahushua. HalleluYAH!

REFLECTION: Standing on clay will make my foot slip astray.
Too often we build our lives on things that cannot hold us: material success, relationships, or even our own discipline. If the job is lost, a life built on wealth collapses. If a relationship ends, direction is lost. If failures come, self-reliance falters. If we build our lives on wealth, achievements, or the praise of others, our foundation is like shifting clay—unstable and easily swept away.

But when we build on Yahushua, our Rock, our lives are anchored in His unchanging love and truth. No storm can shake us, no trial can topple us, for He is our firm foundation, our everlasting peace, and our unwavering guide. Our identity is secure in Him. Our hope stands firm through trials. Our peace and purpose are rooted in His promises, not in circumstances that come and go.
TESHUVAH Return: Get out of the clay clock & return to the firm Rock
Sit quietly beside the King and invite Him to walk through your field with you. Ask Him to reveal the places where your foundation is soft—those clay areas that cannot hold you when storms come. The time is ticking; it is time to return to the Rock.
Humbly examine the areas where you have sought stability in things that cannot truly sustain you. Repent of building altars of refuge on pride, material success, self-reliance, achievements, or the praise of others. Let your heart turn back to Yahushua, the Rock, where your strength, security, and purpose stand firm—unchanging, eternal, and steadfast.
BERACHAH Blessing: the Rock gives the enemy a shock
The blessing in this Teshuvah is a steadfast, eternal foundation—unchanging and unshakable, enduring forever. To build upon this Rock is more than to receive blessings; it is to find a refuge, firm and secure, that cannot be moved. Our identity rests safely in Him, our hope stands unshaken through every trial, and our peace and purpose are deeply rooted in His promises. Standing on the Rock brings Shalom—a quiet assurance that we need not strive to perform, for the Rock is our everlasting strength, our eternal security, and our unwavering shelter.

SCRIPTURE: LUKE 18:11-13
I was waiting for Scripture regarding our Rock, because there are a few I can think of. But I want Father to reveal something hidden between the lines of His Word and He pointed to Luke 18. Wow I was so surprised what He revealed through this Scriptures that is a direct example of our theme of the day.
In Luke 18, Luke is unfolding a beautiful picture of a parable that Yahushua spoke of a Pharisee and a tax collector. In Luke 18:11-14, we read about two men who went to pray. The Pharisee stood confidently, thanking YAHUAH that he was not like others, boasting in his own righteousness. In contrast, the tax collector stood at a distance, humbly acknowledging his sin and pleading for YAHUAH’s mercy.
This parable is not just about prayer; it’s about the foundation upon which we build our lives. The Pharisee built his life on himself—his achievements, his comparisons with others, his outward appearance of righteousness. Though he appeared strong, his foundation was shifting clay, easily shaken by pride or failure.
The tax collector, however, built his life on YAHUSHUA—the Rock. His humility and dependence on YAHUAH’s mercy revealed a heart anchored in something unshakable. He recognized that true security, peace, and blessing do not come from what we do, but from standing firmly on the Rock of YAHUAH’s grace.
ROCK VERSES
📖 1 Corinthians 10:4“And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Messiah.”
In Greek:πέτρα (petra) – rock, massive stone, foundation.
Paul is pointing back to the wilderness, when Yisra’el drank water from the rock (Exodus 17:6, Numbers 20:11), and he reveals that this “Rock” was actually Messiah Yahushua sustaining them.
🔑 Other verses also connect Yahushua with the Rock:
Psalm 118:22 – “The stone which the builders refused has become the head stone of the corner.” (Quoted by Yahushua in Matthew 21:42, referring to Himself.)
Isaiah 28:16 – “Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation…” (Fulfilled in Yahushua, see 1 Peter 2:6.)
PRAYER
Abba YAHUAH, help me to lay every part of my life on You—the unshakable Rock. Remove pride and self-reliance from my heart, and teach me to depend fully on Your mercy and grace. May my foundation be secure, my hope steadfast, and my life a testimony of Your faithfulness. HALLELUYAH!
Teshuvah [תשובה] brings Berachah [ברכה], the blessing of our King.
Shalom,
