MONTH 5: THE 5TH END TIME DIVINE COMMISSION – ENCOURAGE

(1) PREACH the Word! (2) STAND BY IT in season and out of season. (3) CONVICT(4) WARN, (5) ENCOURAGE with all patience and teaching. “ (2 Tim 4:2)

Now that we covered the first four of these divine commissions Paul was teaching us about, we are approaching the fifth one in these last days of the 5th Biblical month, named: ENCOURAGE.

🕯️ ENCOURAGE

Paul’s words to Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2 are some of the last things he ever wrote. He was sitting in a Roman prison, knowing his time on earth was almost done. And he looked at young Timothy, his spiritual son, and said: “Preach the word. Be ready in season and out of season. Correct, rebuke, and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”

I love that Paul included the word encourage. The Greek word he used was parakaleo—it literally means to call someone to your side. It’s not about standing above people and shouting orders, it’s about coming alongside them, putting an arm around their shoulder, and saying: “I’m with you. Don’t give up. Let’s walk this road together.”

This word reminds me of another “Encourage” in 1 Thessalonians 5:11

The verse says:
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

Paul wrote this to the Thessalonian church right after reminding them that the Day of Yahuah is coming like a thief in the night. He told them not to live in fear, but as children of light, clothed with faith, love, and the hope of salvation. And then he says: “Therefore… encourage one another.”

That word encourage also comes from the Greek word parakaleo—the same word we looked at before. It means to call someone to your side, to comfort them, to strengthen them, to breathe courage into them.

Notice Paul doesn’t just say, “Encourage yourselves.” He says, “Encourage one another. That means it’s not only my job to keep my own heart strong, but to look around me and see who needs a word of life today.

We live in a world where discouragement is everywhere. People are weighed down by stress, disappointment, failure, fear. Sometimes the smallest word of encouragement can lift a heavy soul more than we’ll ever realize.

🕯️ Encouraging One Another in the End Times

When we talk about the “end times,” the Bible doesn’t only warn us of trials, deception, and darkness—it also calls us to lift each other up. The writer of Hebrews says: “Encourage one another daily… as long as it is called Today” (Hebrews 3:13). And later: “Do not give up meeting together… but encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25).

That phrase “all the more as you see the Day approaching” is striking. The closer we get to the return of Yahushua, the more encouragement we will need—and the more we are called to give it.

But what does biblical encouragement look like in these times?

First, it’s reminding each other of the HOPE we have in Yahushua.

The world may shake, nations may rage, but we have an Anchor that holds. Paul told the Thessalonians, after describing the return of Yahushua, “Therefore encourage one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:18). What words? The reminder that death is not the end, that Yahushua is coming, and that we will be with Him forever. Hope is one of the most powerful forms of encouragement.

Second, it’s BUILDING up one another’s FAITH.

In days when fear can easily spread, our words should strengthen the hearts of our brothers and sisters. To say, “Yahuah is faithful. His promises still stand. You are not alone.” That kind of encouragement isn’t just making someone feel better—it’s rooting them deeper in Yahuah’s truth.

Third, it’s walking together IN LOVE.

Yahushua said that in the last days, “the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). That means one of the greatest ways to encourage each other is simply to keep loving—to show kindness, to forgive quickly, to carry each other’s burdens. Sometimes encouragement isn’t even words—it’s presence. It’s standing beside someone when the world feels against them.

And finally, it’s keeping each other FOCUSED ON THE MISSION.

The end times are not a season to hide, but to shine. Encouragement sounds like, “Don’t give up sharing your faith. Don’t quit serving. Don’t stop praying. Your labor in Yahuah is not in vain.”

So how do we encourage each other biblically in the end times? By reminding each other of our hope, by speaking truth, by loving deeply, and by stirring each other to keep going until the end.

Because one day soon, the trumpet will sound, and Yahushua Himself will descend. On that day, we won’t need encouragement anymore—we’ll see the One who was our encouragement all along.

🙏 Prayer
“Yahushua, in these days when hearts grow weary, help us to be encouragers. Let our words bring hope, our actions show love, and our presence carry Your peace. Teach us to lift one another up until the day You return. HALLELUYAH!”

AND THE SPIRIT AND THE BRIDE SAY COME!

Shalom,
