REDEDICATION – DAY 2

THE HIDDEN MAN OF THE HEART

Today Father points to the Scripture in His Word from 1 Peter 3, showing us what He adores and desire from us and how we need to strive towards holiness. Like we discussed during DAY 1 of our REDEDICATION eight day walk, we must strive to walk in Yahweh’s ways to keep His statutes and commandments. If we choose to worship Him, then we must also know what pleases Him and know what He adores of us. That is a beautiful key He gives us, because although there is a blessing hidden inside of these verses, it is also a beautiful woven tapestry of examples to keep us save, unharmed, loved and full of hope and to keep us on the road of His ways.

REDEDICATION OF THE MARRIAGE

A HIDDEN MESSAGE FOR THE WIVES

“Likewise, wives, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if any disobey the Word, through the behavior of the wives, without a word they will be won, observing your pure behavior in fear. And adorn not yourselves with the external ornaments of curls of the hair, or the wearing of golden trinkets, or of costly garments.”

“But the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value before Elohim.“

“For so once indeed the holy women who were hoping on Elohim adorned themselves, submitting themselves to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Master; whose children you
became, doing good, and not being confused by false values.” 

A HIDDEN MESSAGE FOR THE HUSBANDS

“And you husbands, likewise, dwell with your wives according to knowledge, and hold them in honour, as the weaker vessels; because they also will inherit with you the gift of eternal life: And let not your prayers be hindered.“

HOW TO BEHAVE IN GENERAL

“And, finally, let all live in harmony, that you be sympathetic with them who suffer, and affectionate one to another, and be merciful and kind. Not giving back evil for evil, or railing for railing; but, on the contrary, give blessing; knowing that you were called to this in order that you might inherit blessing.”

“For the one desiring to love life, and to see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, even his lips not to speak guile. Let him turn aside from evil and let him do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it; because the eyes of YAHWEH are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayer. But the face of YAHWEH is against any doing evil things.” (1 Peter 3:1-12)

This is most probably the softest target that the enemy infiltrate through: THE MARRIAGE. We do not need to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Just think about it: how many people do you know are divorced or not even happily married? Some are married twice or for the third time and is still not happy. So many things can go wrong in a marriage, and it has an effect on everything and everybody, the kids, the family, friends, on both sides of the husband and wife emotional and spiritual areas of their lives, the finances, your whole household, the discipline with the kids and even your relationship with Yahweh and His Son. Amazing strategy from the enemy’s side because he knows if he can destroy a marriage everything under it will be destroyed too. But today we rededicate our relationships in the marriage before Yahweh and we make a stand in the Spirit and drawing a line and say: “Enough is enough! We will claim back what the enemy stole, walk in the ways of Yahweh and obey His Living Word from now on. We will walk in unity till the end to stand before Him as an expectable offering that pleases Him as a married couple, just as Yahweh’s Word commanded us to do“.

REDEDICATION PRAYER

Our Heavenly Father, today we want to honour You for Your Living Word guiding and leading us on Your ways for us to strive to holiness. Please help us to achieve Your goals and to grow out of our fleshly habits of rebellion and pride. We need Your help to live in harmony and be sympathetic to all who suffer and to be affectionate to one another. Father, reveal to us the hidden man of our hearts and give us a meek and quite spirit so that we can be of great value before You. We want to rededicate ourselves again before You as husbands and wives in a Spirit filled relationship so that Your eyes will be on us and Your ears open to our prayers. Thank you for the gift of eternal life that You are blessing us with when we keep Your commandments and statutes according to Your Living Word. Thank You Father that You want to keep us save and want to bless us with Your words and only want to protect us from harm and lead us Savely on Your ways. We love You and we adore You and want to worship You in Spirit and in Truth. In the beautiful name of Yahshua. AMEN

TRADITIONAL HANUKKAH FOODS

I just love the traditional Hanukkah foods this time of the year. Hanukkah meals typically include dishes such as latkes (potato pancakes), donuts, brisket, roasted chicken, noodle kugel, chocolate babka and basically anything fried in oil because of the oil-maricle.

As South African, farm grandma, I love to do a fondue on the last day of Hanukkah, and I also like to fry some fresh fish with a farm salad with donuts as desert. Filled pancakes are also a favourite and our famous “vetkoeke” with mince in or homemade apricot jam and cheese are also on the list. Just remember no pork or any shellfish. Use Father’s guidelines in His Word.

It’s so much fun to prepare the foods together and setting the table for the family for eight days in a row. Remember, it is not a problem if you do not have a Chanukkiah to light your candles on, you can use any 9 candles and put them in a row and also lit them day by day.
