SWORD AND SHELTER (Many are called few are chosen Part 5)
Shabbat Shalom beloved,
Earlier this week, Father showed me an open vision while I was talking with Him about a few concerns I have regarding things the world wants to force upon us in the near future. He revealed Himself simultaneously as both a Warrior and a Protector. As He was fighting the battles with His sword in His right hand, He was keeping His people safe under the protection of His left hand.
As I was pondering this beautiful picture of our Heavenly Father — fighting the battle while protecting His people — He also pointed me to a very interesting Scripture: Psalm 121. In the KJV translation, verse 5 reads, “YAHUAH is thy keeper; YAHUAH is thy shade upon thy right hand.” In The Scriptures translation it says, “YAHUAH is your guard,” and in the Hebraic Roots Version it reads, “YAHUAH is the One keeping you.” Yet, in all the translations, it shows that His shade is on our right hand.
Why is this interesting? Well, if you stand next to someone, side by side, and that person raises their left hand above you, your right side would be under their shade. This verse, then, beautifully confirms that our Protector’s covering comes from His left hand, because He is fighting with His right hand.
Wow — what a powerful and beautiful confirmation of Abba YAHUAH’s position, showing that He shelters us as both our Warrior and our Protector at the same time.
REFLECTION
Therefore, we can rest in absolute confidence, knowing that Abba YAHUAH is never passive in our battles. Even when we cannot see it, His right hand is waging war on our behalf, and His left hand is covering us in perfect protection. We are not called to fear what the world plans to do; we are called to stand firm under His shadow, trusting that He is both fighting for us and guarding us. As the world grows darker and the battle intensifies, may we remain hidden under the shelter of His wings, walking in faith, obedience, and peace, knowing that the Warrior of Heaven is also our Protector and Keeper.
“YAHUAH will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” — Exodus 14:14 “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of YAHUAH, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my Elohim, in Him I trust.’” — Psalm 91:1–2
THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER AND THE LEFT HAND OF MERCY
Prophetically, the right side in Scripture often represents strength, authority, and divine power. Throughout the Word, we see that YAHUAH’s right hand is the hand of victory, judgment, and deliverance — the hand that holds the sword and executes justice. “Your right hand, O YAHUAH, has become glorious in power; Your right hand, O YAHUAH, has dashed the enemy in pieces” (Exodus 15:6). The right hand symbolizes His active movement and might, fighting for His people and establishing His Kingdom.
At the same time, our right side being under His shade reveals the perfect balance of His nature — warrior strength and protective love operating together. While His right hand fights the battle, His left hand extends mercy, covering and sheltering those who are His. This dual revelation reminds us that our safety is not in our own strength but in the alignment of both His justice and His compassion.
So when Psalm 121 says, “YAHUAH is your shade upon your right hand,” it prophetically points to this divine partnership — the sword and the shelter working in perfect harmony. He defends with power, yet He protects with tenderness. And as long as we remain at His side, covered by His left hand and trusting in His right, we can face every battle with confidence, knowing our Defender and Protector is always near.
TORAH PORTION
🏔️ Behar Sinai – The Mountain of the Sword and the Shelter
This week’s Torah portion, Behar Sinai — “On Mount Sinai” — carries a prophetic echo that aligns beautifully with the revelation of the Sword and the Shelter. At Mount Sinai, YAHUAH revealed Himself not only as the Lawgiver, but also as the Protector of His people. From the mountain came His Word — sharp and powerful, like a sword — cutting through the darkness and separating the holy from the profane. Yet in the same breath, He gave laws of rest and restoration, commanding the land to rest every seventh year and declaring the Year of Jubilee as a time of freedom and renewal.
In this we see both of His hands at work — His right hand of power bringing divine order and justice, and His left hand of mercy covering His people with provision and peace. The same Eloah who thundered with authority also whispered promises of protection and blessing to those who would obey. The mountain became a sacred meeting place between His might and His mercy, between the sword that defends truth and the shelter that preserves life.
Just as in the vision of His right hand holding the sword and His left hand shielding His people, Behar Sinai reminds us that obedience to His Word positions us under His covering. The Word that judges the nations is the same Word that guards those who fear Him. When we live according to His commands, we dwell in the safety of His presence — upheld by His strength, surrounded by His peace.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” — Psalm 91:1 “YAHUAH will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” — Exodus 14:14
Beloved, we are living in days when change is no longer optional — it is essential. The chains of no change must be broken if we are to walk in the power and protection of YAHUAH. Just as He revealed Himself at Sinai with both sword and shelter, He calls us to live in that same balance: standing in His truth and resting in His covering. The world will shake, and many will fear, but those who dwell Behar Sinai — under the shadow of His Word and within the boundaries of His commands — will remain unshaken. His right hand still fights for us; His left hand still shelters us. Our only response is repentance, obedience, and unwavering focus on the Master, like the falcon who trusts the hand that guides it.
MANY ARE CALLED BUT FEW ARE CHOSEN
As we reflect on today’s Torah portion, Behar Sinai, and the revelation of the Sword and Shelter, we see a perfect picture of YAHUAH’s dual role in our lives — as Warrior and Protector. The mountain gave His Word with authority, setting boundaries and instructing His people in holiness and righteousness, while also providing paths of rest, provision, and redemption. This is the same balance we see in our personal walk: His right hand fights the battles for us, His left hand shields and shelters us.
In the same light, the teaching of YAHUSHUA resonates profoundly: “Many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14). The call goes out to all, but only those who respond with repentance, obedience, and focus — those who break free from the chains of complacency — will experience the fullness of His protection and blessing. Being “chosen” is not about privilege; it is about alignment with His Word, walking in His ways, and remaining steadfast under His shelter while His sword works on our behalf.
The chains of no change are often the greatest obstacle. They keep us comfortable in the ways of the world, distracted, and exposed to deception and destruction. But when we heed His call, dwell under His shadow, and obey His commands, we are positioned to see clearly, discern rightly, and walk faithfully — just as the falcon obeys the hand of the Falconer, trusting completely in the guidance and protection of its master.
The prophetic truth is clear: YAHUAH calls us to live set apart, aligned with His Word, and focused like the falcon, so that when the storms of the world come, we will not be shaken. We are called to respond, to repent, and to walk in obedience, for it is in this posture that His right hand fights for us, His left hand shields us, and His blessings are fully released in our lives.
DECLARE TODAY
“I will dwell under the shadow of the Almighty, walk in His wisdom, obey His Word, and trust the Warrior and Protector who fights for me and shelters me — for I choose to be among the few who are chosen.”
🙏 Closing Prayer
Abba YAHUAH, we thank You that You are both our Warrior and our Protector. You fight the battles we cannot see with Your right hand, and shelter us in perfect safety with Your left. Forgive us for the chains of complacency and fear that have held us back from walking fully in Your ways.
Teach us to repent, obey, and stay focused like the falcon, with eyes fixed on You and hearts surrendered to Your Word. Help us to dwell under Your shadow, walk in Your wisdom, and trust Your guidance in every step.
Father, we choose today to be among the few who are chosen — those who respond to Your call with faith, humility, and obedience. Protect us from the deception of the world, give us discernment, and strengthen us to walk boldly in Your truth.
We ask all of this in the Name of our Redeemer, YAHUSHUA ha’Mashiach, who is our Sword and our Shelter, our Defense and our Peace. HalleluYAH
