PROPHECY OF RESTORATION

There is a prophecy in an Old Testament book of a prophet we most likely look over and not take note of. This morning, I was praying and told YHWH how marvelous He is and that His greatness is unmeasurable and His unconditional love for us cannot be understood by our human hearts, and that He will always be the Aleph and the Tav.

The topic of this chapter in my other Bible, the “Restoration Study Bible” (with both the Hebrew and Greek Stong’s Dictionaries in) is: ISRAEL‘S RESTORATION. Both the words “RESTRORATION & REMNANT” are definitely two words that comes up a lot the past two years in my ministry, so Yahweh had my attention fixed on this passage:

“IN THAT DAY will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old. (v12) That they may POSSESS the REMNANT of EDOM, and of ALL THE HEATHEN, which are called by my name, saith Yahweh that doeth this.” (Amos 9:11-12)

In the Hebraic Root Study Bible (HRB), Amos 9:11-12 reads as follow: “In that day I will raise up the Sukkoth of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as the days of old; so that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations on whom My name is called, declares Yahweh who is doing this.”

HEBREW STRONG’S DICTIONARY BREAK DOWN – I’m only going to focus on verse 12 today because verse 11 is a teaching on its own for another day, so let’s take a look at the break down through the Strongs in verse 12.

Let’s put in the dictionary words given and then see what it reveals: “That they may YARASH the SH’ERIYTH of EDOM and all of the GOWY which are QARA by My SHEM, declares Yahweh.” Now let us add in the dictionary explanations of the words: “That they may OCCUPY the SURVIVING PORTION of EDOM, and all the GENTILES which are ADDRESSED BY NAME by My MARK declares Yahweh.”

THE FIRSTBORN COVENANT & SCEPTER PROMISE

Esau was the 1ste born of the twins of Isaac, yet Jacob was the one given the right to carry the seed of the Messiah. The promised seed (Messiah) was given to Isaac and Jacob, not to Ishmael and Esau. There were two great promises that came along with the blood covenant. They were the promise of the birthright, and the promise of the scepter.

The promise of the birthright was a promise of the firstborn. The promise of the scepter was a promise of kingship. The promise of the birthright was a special promise given to the firstborn, as the legal heir to the inheritance of the family. This right of the firstborn also included a double portion to his inheritance.

So special was this right of the firstborn, that it could not be changed because of nepotism. But the promises of the birthright and the scepter were conditional upon obedience of the inheritors. So the perspective covenant promise-holders, namely the birthright and scepter, had to obey the terms of the covenant to receive these blessings.

For example, Reuben slept with the concubine of his father, Israel, and lost his birthright promise, and it was given to Joseph. Reuben, who was the legal firstborn of Israel, disqualified himself to be the legal heir of the birthright promise, and Joseph took his place. Joseph was not the next oldest in age, but Israel had two wives, Leah and Rachel. Although Reuben was the firstborn from Leah, Israel was tricked into marrying her, and Israel’s true covenant wife was Rachel, of whom Joseph was firstborn. So Joseph was truly the legal birthright holder in the eyes of Yahweh. We also see that genealogy is counted by the scepter promise, not the birthright. That is probably why most, through the ages, have focused on the kingship of Judah, but not the birthright of Joseph.

The birthright blessing was an exceedingly special blessing to have. It included great physical wealth and strength. So when the Kingdom of Israel was divided, even though there were still 12 tribes, Israel was known primarily as the Northern Kingdom (Joseph and the birthright), and the southern kingdom (Judah and the scepter). Before Israel died, he called Joseph and his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, and literally adopted the two sons of Joseph as his own (Gen 48:3-5). Then he went on to give the birthright promise to Ephraim.

WHO OR WHAT IS EDOM MENTIONED IN AMOS 9:12?

“That they may OCCUPY the SURVIVING PORTION of EDOM, and all the GENTILES which are ADDRESSED BY NAME by My MARK declares Yahweh.”

The nation of Israel came into being after Abraham had a son named Isaac, and Isaac in turn had two sons named Esau and Jacob. Jacob’s name was then changed to Israel after he fought with Yahweh’s Messenger and survived (Gen 32:28). Yahweh chose Abraham and his seed to set up His everlasting covenant, due to the obedience and faith of Abraham, and that today, 3,800 hundred years later, He is still working with the same seed of Abraham: “The 12 tribes of Israel.”

Edom is the merger of family of Seir and the family of Esau. Jacob’s family fought to the death not to assimilate. On the other hand, Gen. 36 shows us how Esau and his sons intermarried. Esau intermarried with Canaanites and the Horites of Seir.

Eliphaz was Esau’s firstborn. We are told that he had several sons from his wife (who is unnamed). But we are also told that he had a son named Amalek, born to him by a concubine named Timna the Horite. This grandson of Esau is specifically mentioned because it is the descendants Amalek who go to war against Moses and the Israelites in a most heinous and despicable manner as they were leaving Egypt towards the Promised Land (Ex.17, Deut.25:17-19). Amalek shows up in prophesy several times. They are the archetype of a people whose primary goal is the genocide of the Jewish people.

There are 17 “dukes” or “chiefs” listed among the descendants of Esau. These titles were not given to Esau or his sons but in future generations. Yahweh only gave Esau one promise and that is that he would break the yoke of Jacob from his neck (Gen 27:40).  The prophesies of Jacob and Esau were not about the men themselves but their descendants, that is why the Edomites of today have so much power.

In the “end of time” Yahweh will come against the House of Esau, which exists to this day using different names. Esau didn’t just intermarry with the Ishmaelites, but they also joined with the Moabites and the Ammonites. When they combined with each other, they became very corrupt and the sworn enemies of Israel.

The people who live to the east of Israel are not just “a bunch of Arabs.” There are many groups who live there. There are Assyrians, Kurds, Coptics, etc. They may speak the Arabic language, but they are not ethnically Arab. When the Ottoman Empire was broken up after World War 1, the British and the French carved up the land and created artificial countries, such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon.

When we look at all these “Muslim” wars in the Middle East we assume that they are just “civil wars” but what if Yahweh is raising up all this ethnic and sectarian strife for a reason so that we understand that He meant what He said in His Word? Nevertheless, the Promised Seed (Messiah) was given to Isaac and Jacob, not Ishmael and Esau. That is why Yahweh “loved” Jacob and “hated” Esau. Esau was the first born, yet Jacob was the one given the right to carry the Seed of the Messiah and until this day they are at war.

It should be quite sobering to us to see how many firstborns have sold out their inheritance for earthly desires. What does it mean to you to be a first fruit or firstborn? How much do you cherish that position, or are you like Esau, selling out your inheritance for some worldly desire or system?

WHO ARE THE NATIONS WHO ARE CALLED IN AMOS 9:12

“That they may OCCUPY the SURVIVING PORTION of EDOM, and all the GENTILES which are ADDRESSED BY NAME by My MARK declares Yahweh.”

No true believer in Yahweh or Yahshua today can be called a Gentile or heathen, we are being RESTORED back in the original tree Yahweh attended us to grow in. I believe that when you see the historical migration of the Northern tribes of Israel in Diaspora and the restored remnant rising, you will be much surprised. They are far from being lost from history, as most proclaim, they are very much alive today, and still very much in the plan of Yahweh, as they have always been. And if we are grafted into the Olive Tree as Yahweh’s Word shows us, then we are part of this magnificent Master Plan of our Abbs Father, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.

WHAT IS THE MARK OR SIGN THAT YAHWEH GAVE TO HIS COVENANT BELIEVERS MENTIONED IN AMOS 9:12?

“That they may OCCUPY the SURVIVING PORTION of EDOM, and all the GENTILES which are ADDRESSED BY NAME by My MARK declares Yahweh.“

THE OLD COVENANT SIGN

In Genesis 17:11 we learn that circumcision was a sign of the covenant between Yahweh and Abraham. This verse highlights the significance of circumcision as a physical act symbolizing the covenant relationship Yahweh established with Abraham and his descendants. After giving Abraham exceedingly great and precious promises, Yahweh commanded him to give the covenant sign of circumcision to all the males in his household of the EIGHTH day. Closely related to the covenant promise itself, Yahweh calls the sign of circumcision “MY COVENANT”.

THE NEW COVENANT SIGN

Very interesting is that Prophet Jeremiah prophesied in the Old Testament about a NEW COVENANT:

“Behold, the days come, says YAHWEH, that I will cut a NEW COVENANT with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not according to the covenant that I cut with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt (which covenant of Mine they broke, although I was to be a husband to them, says YAHWEH). But this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, declares YAHWEH, I will put My Torah in their inward parts, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.” (Jer 31:31-33)

In the above prophetic verse in Jeremiah, we can clearly see that Yahweh will RESTORE His House and cut a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. But what will the sign or signs be of this new covenant if the sign of the old covenant was to be circumcised?

SIGN ONE: CIRCUMCISED TO BAPTIZED

While circumcision was the sign of the Old Covenant, Yahshua Himself showed us the “New Sign” of the New Covenant when He was baptized by John in the Jordan River.

“All authority in Heaven and on earth was given to Me. And as my Father sent Me, I send you. Then having gone, disciple all nations, BAPTIZING them into the NAME of the Father, and the Son, and the sanctified Spirit, and teach them to OBSERVE all things, whatever I COMMANDED you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until completion of the age. Amen.” (Matt 28:18-20)

SIGN TWO: the blood of a lamb to THE BLOOD OF THE LAST LAMB

If you cut a covenant there is always blood involved. Just as the blood was a sign while being circumcised and also as the blood was the sign for the Israelites in Egypt while they were applying it on their doorposts and lintels of their homes and that the angel of death will passover them, so Yahshua’s blood became our SIGN in the NEW COVENANT. Now His blood will also save us and give us eternal life, and the angel of death will also passover us when he sees THE SIGN of Yahshua’s blood over us. He is our perfect Atonement and His Blood is the Perfect Sign that will protect us and break us free from the yoke of the sting of death and perfect forgiveness of our sins in the sight of the Father.

“And as they ate, taking the bread and blessing it, Yahshua broke and gave to the disciples and said, Take eat; this is My body. And taking the cup, and giving thanks, He gave to them, saying, Drink all of it. For this represents My blood of the New Covenant which many is being poured out for remissions of sins.” (Matt 26:26-28)

SIGN THREE: TO PROVOKE THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL TO JEALOUSY

The first Covenant has the Law (the Letter), the second Covenant has the Spirit. Both covenants work in unity. We need to have the first to understand the second and we need to have the second to understand the first. None of the Letter in the first covenant was abolished by the Spirit in the second covenant. The second covenant just fulfil the first one. By understanding this, then we are walking in Spirit and in Truth. That means THE NEW COVENANT BELIEVERS are walking in the Spirit and the Letter and that is what will provoke the UNRESTORED House of Judah and Israel to jealousy.

“I say, then, Did not they stumble that they should fall? Let it not be! But by their slipping away came salvation to the nations, to PROVOKE THEM TO JEALOUSY.” (Romans 11:11) By the physical nation of Israel rejecting the message of salvation, Yahshua sent His disciples to the lost sheep of the House of Israel abroad and opened salvation for all people.

“Even so, in this present time a remnant is preserved, elected by grace and has come into being.” (Romans 11:5)

It has nothing to do with any individuals or their action that YHWH is restoring people in the end time back to their Israelite heritage, but it has to do with His grace and His Name and His Promises to Abraham. So only those who stay humble and give YHWH all the glory, will continue in the true way and the prideful of heart will fall away. YHWH has restored the physical nation of Israel in 1948 in their unbelief and according to scripture He gave them a spirit of slumber and eyes not seeing and ears not hearing until this day (Rom 11:8 & Isa 29:10), but when Yahshua returns their eyes will be open and they will also join the New Covenant.

CONCLUSION OF THE PROPHECY OF AMOS 9:12

RESTARATION OF THE WHOLE HOUSE OF YAHWEH – The above revelation YHWH gave us is a mouth full but to summarize it we can say: Yahweh will RESTORE HIS WHOLE HOUSE, He will restore the House of Judah and the House of Israel, He will RESTORE the surviving portion of the House of EDOM and He will restore House of the GENTILES. They will be ADDRESSED BY NAME, they will be walking with His New Covenant-signs in Spirit and in Truth, to provoke those who rejected the message of salvation, to jealousy so that their eyes and ears will open and then joins the New Covenant.

Father Yahweh, we lay face down in front of you today. Your Word is burning in our hearts by hearing this Master Plan that You have to restore Your House in fullness as Your Blue Print originally was laid out. Oh Father, how can we ever thank you enough with our human words formed by our fleshly mouths…never will it be enough to magnify Your Greatness my Father. But today I want to thank you with these small words that is matchless against Your Almighty Works and Grace that You give us freely out of Your hand. I want to thank You my Father for the opportunity to be part of this restoration process that you are busy with in these last days before our Bridegroom returns. Father, I honor You for the window opportunity that You give us to come back to Your original plan Father, Your original Ancient Path and to walk in Spirit and in Truth with Your Signs that You gave us in the New Covenant and also still observing Your commandments in the Old Covenant making this one beautiful, anointed Covenant sealed with the Blood of the Lamb, our Messias and Saviour, Yahshua – Your SON. Father may You be blessed by our obedience as we lift the banner of love before You and bow down because You are Holy, Holy, Holy… We worship You and We praise You Father, forever and ever. Amen
