SIGNS OF A TRUE BIBLICAL COVENANT BELIEVER – SIGN 1 – PART 4
The Hebrew term בְּרִית bĕriyth for “covenant” is from a root with the sense of “cutting”, because pacts or covenants were made by passing between cut pieces of flesh of an animal sacrifice.
There are two major types of covenants in the Bible: the obligatory type and the promissory type. Yahweh rewarded Abraham, Noah, and David in His covenants with them. As part of His covenant with Abraham, Yahweh has the obligation to keep Abraham’s descendants as His chosen people and be their Elohim. He acts as the suzerain power and is the party of the covenant accompanied by the required action that comes with the oath whether it be fire or animals in the sacrificial oaths. In doing this, Yahweh is the party taking upon the curse if he does not uphold his obligation. There are two main Biblical Covenants: a covenant of promise and a covenant of law. The former involved an oath taken by Yahweh – a word of promise instead of command – while the latter is known in the Bible as “the Law” written in the Torah (the 5 first books in the Bible).
There is an amazing New Testament Scripture to confirm that the Torah was not nullify by the New Covenant, “Do we then nullify the Torah by faith? Far be it. On the contrary, we ESTABLISH THE TORAH!” (Romans 3:31)
Just as a covenant between a man and a woman during their wedding vowels, and exchanging rings as a Covenant Sign afterwards, so will True Covenant Believers also have “SIGNS” of their Covenant with the Living Elohim whom they chose to worship. The Major Signs are:
1. 𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 God and His Son

GRAFTED INTO THE COVENANT OF ISRAEL
The replacement theology is a lie of Satan to hide the truth of Yahweh, and to show that the words and laws of Yahweh are pertinent to us today as believers since we are Israelites and part of the seed of Abraham. But in no way is this message meant to be exclusive to any one group of people or meant to exclude anyone from Yahweh’s covenant. But make no mistake! If you are a Gentile who is trying to join himself to Yahweh through a covenant relationship, there is only one way to do it, through the covenant of the House of Israel, through Abraham our forefather. A Gentile must join the one tree of Israel, rather than making Yahweh into a gentile “god.”
The early congregation never kept Christmas or Easter in the days of the Apostles, but it was later blended into the faith by pagan gentile rulers such as Constantine, the Emperor of Rome. Salvation was opened to Gentiles by the falling away of Israel, but Yahweh our Elohim never changed. Rom 11:11 “I say, then, Did not they stumble that they fall? Let it not be! But by their slipping away came salvation to the nations, to provoke them to jealousy.” The point of allowing Gentiles into the covenant was meant by Yahweh to provoke Israel to jealousy. When Gentile Christians go to Orthodox Jews and falsely tell them to “accept Jesus” so that they can eat pork, break the Sabbath, and not have to keep that “evil” law of Yahweh, it is not doing any benefit to anyone. What will win their respect and make them jealous?? Our love for the Torah, and our respect for all the words, commandments and covenants of Yahweh. That is why it is very important to note that this is why all true believers today should be keeping the Feasts of Yahweh outlined in Leviticus the 23rd chapter, and not Christmas and Easter, which are pagan holidays. It is all part of the SIGNS of COVENANT as we will discuss it in this series.
Now that Yahshua had paid the penalty of the old covenant, Yahweh was able to make a new covenant with Israel. Notice that His law is the same in both covenants, the difference being that in the New Covenant it is written on the hearts, so that the sons of Israel would not be disobedient. This can only come through the imparting of the Holy Spirit. Now when one becomes a new believer in Yahshua, he is a new creation.
2 Corinthians 5:17-18 “So that if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new! And all things are from Elohim, the One having reconciled us to Himself through Yahshua Messiah, and having given to us the ministry of reconciliation.”
Once one becomes a believer in Yahshua, he would not be considered a Gentile any longer, or even a Messianic Jew, but a Messianic Israelite. Yahshua, Who is doing a new thing, has made all into one unto Himself.
Galatians 3:26-29 “for you are all sons of Yahweh through faith in Yahshua Messiah. For as many as were immersed (baptized) into Messiah, you put on Messiah. There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is no slave nor freeman, there is no male and female; for you are all one in Yahshua Messiah. And if you are of Messiah, then you are a seed of Abraham, even heirs according to promise.“
Through Yahshua, the Creator of all things, we have spiritually become one or “echad” in Him. He will also physically gather together the seed of Abraham to Himself at His return. When looking at the plan of Salvation of Yahweh, it is only logical that we begin where the Everlasting Covenant was established, with Abraham. We must also realize that our Elohim (Hebrew for God), is an Elohim of covenants, NOT religion. Elohim made man in His Own image, yet for the last six thousand years, man has re-created Elohim in his image. Religion is a man-made entity that has been used to brainwash and control the minds of people almost since time began.
SIGN 1 – 𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 God and His Son
Does the Bible give the name of the Son of YAHWEH in the New Testament?
Mat 1:20 And as he was thinking about these things, behold, a Cherub of YAHWEH was seen by him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mariam as your wife. For that in her is generated by the Holy Spirit.
Mat 1:21 And she will bear a son, and you shall call His name YAHSHUA, for He shall save His people from their sins.
The Greek name Jesus has no etymology or meaning to it. It is a Greek hybrid name that has no original meaning to it; where as the name YAHSHUA, (which in the original Hebrew means YAHWEH‘s salvation) tells exactly the job that the Messiah of Israel will do. He will save His people from their sins, or He will be the salvation of Israel.
Israelites were functional people. The name of the Creator when first asked by Moses was revealed as,” I am that I am”, or better rendered in the original Hebrew, “I exist“. When YAHWEH was asked His name, He told not only His name YAHWEH, but what He does, “He exists.”
Today in the west we do not think functionally like ancient Israelites, but with more of a Greek mind set. The Greek mind thinks more of what something is instead of what something does.
Think functionally for a moment; if you lived in the first century A.D. and you saw the Messiah of Israel in Galilee, do you suppose He would have a Greek name or a Hebrew one? Of course He would have a Hebrew one. The Messiah of Israel was named YAHSHUA (YAHWEH‘s salvation) not Jesus which has no etymology.
Originally the New Testament was written in Aramaic, a dialect of Hebrew and was later translated into Greek. It was then that the Savior’s name was changed from its original name of YAHSHUA to the Greek hybrid of “Jesus”.
Are there any scriptures that show that the name of the Savior would have to have the name of YAHWEH the Father in His name?
Exo 23:20 Behold, I am about to send a messenger before you, to guard you in the way, and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.
Exo 23:21 Be on guard before Him, and listen to His voice. Do not be rebellious against Him, for He will not forgive your transgressions; for My name is in Him.
The name “Jesus” at best, is a poor transliteration of YAHSHUA and at worst is transliterated from an ancient Greek god of healing, called IE – Zeus. In Greek there is no letter J and the J has a “ie” sound. Most scholars believe that the hybrid name “Jesus” is the transliteration of the Greek name “Iesous”, which is the transliteration of the original Hebrew “YAHSHUA”.
The question one must ask is “If the Savior of Israel was a Jew from the tribe of David, then why would we transliterate His name into Greek before transliterating it into English”? It not only makes no logical sense to do this, but it also breaks every rule of grammar.
Let’s for a moment take the argument of some that the name “Iesous” is a proper transliteration of the name YAHSHUA. There is no grammatical rule in any language to transliterate a name into one language before transliterating the name into your language. NONE! So why would anyone do this. Why would someone transliterate the name YAHSHUA into Greek and then English? If we are going to use the English transliteration of YAHSHUA, then it would be Joshua in English. Joshua and YAHSHUA phonetically sound very similar. To prove this point, look at the following scripture.
Heb 4:8 For if Joshua the son of Nun had given them rest, then He would not have afterwards spoken about another day.
The interesting thing about this verse is that here the translators correctly translate “Iesous” from the Greek into Joshua, but this is the exact same word #2424 in the Strong’s concordance that in every other place in the New Testament is translated as “Jesus”. So why correctly translate “Iesous” here as Joshua and not in the other places in the New Testament?
Again there is absolutely No rule of grammar in any language to transliterate a name first into one language and then into another. Also there is NO letter “J” in the Hebrew language, so our Savoir could NOT have been named Jesus. Also in Hebrew every word goes back to a 2 or 3 letter root word and has some meaning. Yah Shua means YAHWEH is Salvation, or the Salvation of YAHWEH. Jesus or Iesous in Greek has no root or meaning.
Also, since there is no letter “J” in Hebrew this would stand to reason that the name Jehovah is not the name of the Heavenly Father. In second Temple times, the Jews started to think that the name of YAHWEH was too sacred to pronounce, so they took the vowels of ADONAI and placed them in the sacred name YHWH and came up with a false hybrid name Jehovah. Any good encyclopedia will tell you this and show you that grammatically speaking, it is impossible to come up with the name Jehovah.
Does scripture clearly show us that our Savoir had a Hebrew and not Greek name?
Act 26:14 And all of us falling to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me, and saying in the Hebrew dialect, Shaul, Shaul why do you persecute Me? It is hard for you to kick against the stakes.
Act 26:15 And I said, Who are you, Sir? And He said, I am YAHSHUA whom you persecute;
It is most interesting to note that if the Savoir spoke to the Apostle Paul in the Hebrew dialect, then He most assuredly would have used His true Hebrew name YAHSHUA, and not “Jesus” as previously stated, there is no letter J in Hebrew.
Does it make any difference what name you refer to for our Savoir? How many names are there in scripture, which tell us that we may receive salvation?
Act 4:12 and there is salvation (YAHSHUA means Salvation) in no other man, for neither is there any other name under Heaven having been given among men by which we must be saved.
Scripture is very clear that there are not many names to call on for salvation, but one name that we may call on to be saved; YAHSHUA, or literally YAHWEH’s salvation.
Was it prophesied that the name of the Heavenly Father would be revealed in the end time to His remnant flock?
Mal 3:16 Then those fearing YAHWEH spoke together, each man to his neighbor. And YAHWEH gave attention and heard. And a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for those who feared YAHWEH, and for those esteeming His name.
Isa 52:5 So then what is to Me here, declares YAHWEH? For My people are taken for nothing; those ruling howl, declares YAHWEH. And My name is continually despised, every day.
Isa 52:6 So My people shall know My name thus in that day; for I am He speaking. Behold Me!
Jer 16:14 So, behold, the days come, says YAHWEH, that it shall no more be said, As YAHWEH lives who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
Jer 16:15 But rather, As YAHWEH lives who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands, there where He had banished them to. And I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.
Jer 16:19 O YAHWEH, my strength and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, Our fathers have inherited only lies, vanity, and there is no profit in them.
Jer 16:20 Can a man make gods to himself? But they are not Elohim!
Jer 16:21 Therefore, behold, I will make them know this time; I will cause them to know My hand and My might; and they shall know that My name is YAHWEH.
Mal 1:11 For from the rising of the sun to its going down, My name shall be great among the nations, and everywhere incense shall be offered to My name; and a pure food offering; for My name shall be great among the nations, says YAHWEH of Hosts.
Deu 28:58 If you will not take heed to do all the Words of this Torah, written in this book, to fear this glorious and fearful Name, YAHWEH your Elohim,
Conclusion: There is absolutely no doubt that the biblical name of our Heavenly Father is YAHWEH and the name of His Son is YAHSHUA. We have barely scratched the surface of all the scriptures that speak about giving glory and honour and reverence to the personal name of YAHWEH, the Father in Heaven and Creator of the universe. As a matter of fact there are about 7,000 scriptures or more that either name His name personally or refer to it in holiness and reference. For more detailed teachings about the Creator’s Name, please read Part 1 – 3 of this series in the blog.
I am looking forward to share with you the next SIGN.
Shalom
