SIGNS OF A TRUE BIBLICAL COVENANT BELIEVER – SIGN 1 – PART 1

SIGN 1

There was a moment when Moses had the nerve to ask God what His name was. God was gracious enough to answer, and the name He gave is recorded in the original Hebrew as YHWH.

And Elohim said to Moses, EHYAH ASHER EHYAH (I AM THE I AM); and He said, You shall say this to the sons of Israel, EHYAH (I AM) sent me to you.” (Exodus 3:14) Literally, I will be what I will be. This verse used the past, present and future verb tense, showing who was, who is and who is to come, the Eternal Yahweh. “And Elohim said to Moses again You shall say this to the sons of Israel, YAHWEH, the Elohe of your fathers the Elohe of Abraham, the Elohe of Isaac, the Elohe of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My Name forever and this is how I should be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 31:15) The Heavenly Father reveals His name to be YHWH pronounced as YAHWEH. This name is listed almost 7,000 times in the Tanach (Old Testament) alone and yet almost every Bible translation on earth exchanges the sacred name of YAHWEH for generic titles and even pagan names such as god and lord.

Over time weโ€™ve arbitrarily added an โ€œaโ€ and an โ€œeโ€ in there to get YaHWeH, presumably because we have a preference for vowels. But scholars and rabis have noted that the letters YHWH represent breathing sounds, or aspirated consonants. When pronounced without intervening vowels, it actually sounds like breathing. YH (inhale): WH (exhale).

Signs of True Covenant

As true Covenant Believers we need to start from the beginning and getting the basic, important Biblical Truth under our knees. โ€œKry dit onder die knieโ€ like the Africans people would say. Maybe it was also a shadow of means to speak by letting you know you must kneel in prayer about this and make it an important revelation of your walk of purification.  โ€œFor all the peoples walk, each one in the name of his Elohim; but we will walk in the Name of YAHWEH forever and ever.โ€ (Micah 4:5)

As True Covenant Believers there will be โ€œSIGNSโ€ of our Covenant with the Living Elohim whom we chose to worship.

And you speak to the sons of Israel, charging them, only My Sabbaths you shall keep; for it is a SIGN between Me and you for your generation; to know that I am YAHWEH your sanctifier.” (Exodus 31:13)

SIGN 1 continue.

So a babyโ€™s first cry, his first breath, speaks the name of YAHWEH. A deep sigh calls His name โ€“ or a groan or gasp that is too heavy for mere words. Even an atheist would speak His name unaware that their very breathe is giving constant acknowledgment to YAHWEH. Likewise, a person leaves this earth with their last breath, when YAHWEHโ€™s name is no longer filing their lungs.

So when I canโ€™t utter anything else, is my cry calling out His name?
Being alive means I speak His name constantly.  Is it heard the loudest when Iโ€™m the quietest?

In sadness, we breathe heavy sighs. In joy, our lungs feel almost like they will burst. In fear we hold our breath and have to be told to breathe slowly to help us calm down. When weโ€™re about to do something hard, we take a deep breath to find our courage.

When I think about it, breathing is giving Him praise. Even in the hardest moments!

This is so beautiful and fills me with emotion every time I grasp the thought. YAHWEH chose to give Himself a name that we canโ€™t help but speak every moment weโ€™re alive. All of us, always, everywhere. Waking, sleeping, breathing, with the name of YHWH on our lips.

Shalom

Mattaniah
